10 Things We Learned From 'Young Bucks: Killing The Business From Backyards To The Big Leagues'

9. Working Tirelessly For Their Own Ring

Given how the full title of this book is Killing the Business From Backyards to the Big Leagues, it's no surprise to hear how the future Young Bucks had their own backyard wrestling federation, BYWA, aka Backyard Wrestling Association.

While some fans may well be aware that the Bucks had their own backyard ring, most will likely not be aware just how Nick and Matt ended up with said ring.

With their parents wanting to encourage their sons' wrestling dreams but also wanting to keep a close eye on them, it was decided that their mother and father would allow their boys to get a wrestling ring - just that the boys would have to put up half the cash for the ring and then help their father build it.

From Nick Jackson, this installed a sense of value and work ethic into he and his brothers.

"This was where we kids first learned the value of the dollar and how hard we had to work for it. Every day after school, we'd help paint houses, build fences, rooftops, and put up doors and windows. We did a little bit of everything. After several months of saving every penny we earned, and with some help from our parents, we had enough to buy all the supplies for the ring."

Of course, the Young Bucks have gone on to prove themselves as extremely smart businessmen in subsequent years, not least with the utterly ridiculous amount of merchandise they've sold thanks to wise marketing and massive popularity.
