Both Matt and Nick Jackson have long-lasting buddies in the wrestling business that they've known for years, but one friendship that has never really been touched on before is the one that the brothers had with the late Chris Kanyon.

Who better than Kanyon? Not many. While he may not have always had the main event spotlight that his in-ring ability deserved, Chris Kanyon was a phenomenal worker who was a genuine innovator between the ropes. Sadly, he passed away on 2 April 2010.

After being released by WWE in 2004, the following year would see Kanyon meet Matt and Nick Jackson. Not only did they get to meet Kanyon at an FCW event, the brothers managed to get the one-time WCW United States Champion to work for their own wrestling promotion - which had by this point in time been renamed as High Risk Wrestling.

During this time, Chris would strike up a tight friendship with Matt that saw the two regularly talk on the phone. So close was this friendship, Kanyon came out to Matt before he went public with that information, gave him an early heads-up on the tragic passing of Eddie Guerrero, and it was Matt who Chris turned to when he was at one point contemplating ending his life.
