Edge roared back onto the WWE scene at January's Royal Rumble like he'd never been away. He had though - he'd been gone for almost a decade, and had only popped back up occasionally to play talking head or Network comedian. This was different. It was incredible.

Nobody predicted that Edge would come in as #21 in the men's Rumble, or that he'd last 23 minutes before being eliminated. His return was one of the best anyone had ever seen, and it was clearly an emotional moment for Adam Copeland, his friends and his family.

WWE did a magnificent job of keeping things quiet in the lead-up to the event. Some might've had suspicions, but few could say with any certainty that yes, Edge would play a huge role in the upcoming pay-per-view. Looking back on it now (especially when everyone has grown so used to empty arenas) is special.
