10 Things WWE Actually Got Right In 2020

2. Sticking By Drew McIntyre

Drew McIntyre's Rumble win originally occupied this spot on the list.

What changed? Well, something else pipped it the more yours truly thought about his 2020. As undoubtedly awesome as his Rumble triumph was, and as sweet a moment as that first WWE Title win at WrestleMania must've been for the guy, it's also cool to report that WWE never lost faith in Drew as a headliner.

Following his big win over Brock Lesnar at 'Mania, the fallout buzz from that show began to fade. It's then that WWE could've booked someone else to supplant McIntyre as WWE Champ, but they didn't. OK, they sort of did when Randy Orton captured the belt at Hell In A Cell - that was only temporary though.

This has been Drew's year. 2020 has been a 12-month span during which he has established himself as a sustainable top-liner in WWE for good, and that shouldn't be taken for granted. It wouldn't have been a huge surprise had WWE erratically played 'pass the parcel' with the top prize instead.
