The common view that the smart fans' opinions don't matter as they will watch regardless is a short-sighted conclusion. The smart fans are also the ones that are willing to spend the most money on the product; they regularly go to the live shows, buy the DVD's, subscribe to the Network and purchase the merch in abundance when the product is hot. Not many parents are going to shell out $500 on a championship belt for 7 year old Timmy - a happy, die hard, dirtsheet reading smark just might.
