10 Things WWE Are Struggling To Get Over Right Now

8. Babyface Randy Orton

He might be one of the most decorated wrestlers in WWE history, but few performers are duller than Randy Orton at the moment. 'The Viper' has been one of the company's most listless performers since he returned ahead of SummerSlam 2016, and while the promotion has tried to raise his interest levels with a WWE Title run and a number of high profile storylines, nothing has worked.

Orton is a veteran main eventer, and will always maintain a certain level of popularity. Regardless, it's hard to think of a time when he was less over than he is today. Bland, lifeless, and impossible to root for, Randy is coasting on his reputation, and his momentum has flatlined.

Much of the blame lies with Orton himself, as he has rarely looked as uninspired and unmotivated as he does at the moment, but the bulk of it comes from the company. WWE are always going to push Randy to a certain level, but he has never been a particularly convincing babyface, and his current role is both shallow and insipid.

Fans are expected to cheer for him on name value alone, not because of any discernibly endearing character traits. Why? Because they don't exist.
