10 Things WWE Are Struggling To Get Over Right Now

7. Carmellsworth

James Ellsworth provoked universal uproar when he stole history from SmackDown's women at Money In The Bank 2017. The chin-deficient scruffball scaled the ladder, grabbed the briefcase, and tossed it down to Carmella, prompting an immense critical backlash from all corners of the internet, and placing the duo at the heart of the year's most controversial angle.

Now, more than two months later, the outrage has all but died. Carmella and Ellsworth were initially greeted by massive jeers in the aftermath, but those have since been replaced by the noiseless reactions of old. Nobody cares about them anymore, and given that Carmella still has the briefcase in her clutches, that's a problem.

She'll be expected to play a big role in the women's division going forward, but 'The Princess Of Staten Island' hasn't gotten over, and Ellsworth outlived his own use long before the conclusion of last year's angle with AJ Styles and Dean Ambrose. They're done, and while their union has helped Carmella climb the divisional ladder, it hasn't improved their standing with the fans.

This all but confirms that those post-MITB boos were for the writers, not and not 'Carmellsworth,' who remain a tedious SmackDown double act.
