10 Things WWE Fans Have To Look Forward To In 2018
1. The End Of Brock Lesnar's Universal Title Reign
The fiction of WWE is atrocious with Brock Lesnar reigning with and, lol, defending the Universal Championship.
There is no narrative focal point around which to build RAW, which wasn't a huge issue when the Beast was in the midst of a career-best in-ring run in 2015. But now that Lesnar is carrying out his duties with the mercenary strategy once left on the negotiating table, his lustre has completely evaporated. He wrestled two great matches in 2017. He's back on 2016 form in 2018. Used to be, the fandom would handpick a challenger they'd like to see handed the rub. Now many of us would like to see Lesnar - his reign at least - rubbed from existence.
Lesnar's mere being renders the rest of the roster incongruous in the shadow of this legitimate warlord - a plot hole excavated like the heads of his hardway bloodied opponents in one-sided squashes now bereft entirely of their grisly novelty value. Now that WWE has spitefully broken CM Punk's modern-day World Title record - and here's that refrain again - things can't possibly get any worse. The apparently UFC-bound Brock Lesnar can't possibly, for example, drill Seth Rollins this autumn with nine German suplexes, taking two token bumps, before burning down the Architect's brain matter.
Actually, per the latest Wrestling Observer, Brock Lesnar is not scheduled for any upcoming appearances - not even SummerSlam.
So this might actually happen in 2019, and absolutely isn't anything to look forward to.
