One thing a lot of people don't know is that Abyss started transitioning into other roles behind the scenes in Impact Wrestling several years ago. Alongside actually wrestling and helping the creative team out with storyline ideas, he also worked as a producer. His favourite creation ended up being a memorable one.

Memorable because Eddie Edwards ended up with a smashed orbital bone and broken nose.

That feud (kicking off in March 2018) resulted in several violent Street Fight-style brawls and a heated revenge angle between Edwards and Sami Callihan. Abyss was the one pulling the strings, suggesting little nuances both men could use in their thuggish scraps and making sure the intensity levels were high.

If you've never seen it or haven't paid much attention to Impact over the past few years, do yourself a favour and watch their vicious "Unsanctioned" fight on the 7 June 2018 episode of Impact. Then, imagine what Abyss could bring to NXT.
