10 Things WWE Fans Need To Know About Abyss

6. He Hated One Of His Most Violent Matches

Abyss Blood

As much as eye-popping violence has pinned down his career in TNA, Abyss was never too fond of one of his most twisted matches. During an interview with Don Callis' and Lance Storm's 'Killing The Town' podcast last year, he admitted that the 'Silent Night, Bloody Night' Christmas cringer from 2007 was "atrocious".

He didn't stop there.

Abyss went on to rip his own match to shreds by saying it was "a complete catastrophe" he knew wouldn't work going in. Still, it's what TNA's writing team wanted, so he and opponents Rellik, Black Reign (Goldust) and Shark Boy did their best to make some sense of a batsh*t gimmick match that included a barbed-wire Christmas tree.

Finding good quality footage of this match is a little harder, but it'll be in the Global Wrestling Network archives somewhere. If you didn't know that existed, you're welcome. Oh, and check out the free 30-day trial for some old-school TNA goodness.
