10 Things WWE Fans Need To Know About Jay White

1. He Has Never Been Interested In WWE

If you're hoping to see Switchblade Jay White pull an 'AJ Styles' and make a shock debut at the WWE Royal Rumble, I've got some bad news for you; it ain't gonna happen. Sure, the rumour mill is having a great time at the moment, but the chances of White turning up on RAW or SmackDown are slim to say the least.

Despite his dream being ignited by WrestleMania XXVII, Jay White has made it abundantly clear on a number of occasions that he has little interest in working his way towards a lucrative WWE deal. The range of opportunities in the world of professional wrestling today are too varied and too exciting to be chained to the creative vacuum that is Vince McMahon's WWE.

Jay White is a professional wrestler. What's more, he is a fan of professional wrestling. You can tell as much from his work in the ring? He is a professional in every sense of the world, a heel who knows how to manipulate an audience into despising him, someone who focuses on words and actions in the ring as opposed to fireballs and awkward conversations backstage. He isn't an entertainer in WWE's understanding of the word.

Of course, I'll happily eat my hat when he saunters out at the Royal Rumble, only to be eliminated by Randy Orton after a plucky 10-minute performance...

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
