For fans who have yet to see footage of Liger wrestling in his mid-to-late 90s prime, do yourself a favour and check it out. There have been a lot of great junior heavy, cruiser and X-Division guys over the years, but Liger may very well be the best of all-time. Few (save for maybe Liger's predecessor the original Tiger Mask and Dynamite Kid) have been as influential. Liger not only invented the shooting star press and other state-of-the-art moves, but he also helped bring that style to the masses. Liger's influence can be seen all over the business today, particularly when it comes to junior heavyweight wrestling. In terms of match quality, Liger's CV goes up against just about anyone in the business's. He's had a plethora of classics with a diverse range of opponent. He is a rare breed of wrestler in that there is never really a 'bad' Liger match. Even an 'average' Liger match is still better than most other matches. He just knows what to do and when/how to do it. He's also one of, if not the, most decorated junior heavyweight wrestlers in history. Although championships are not really 'won', merely given to wrestlers, the fact that Liger has won so many tournaments, IWGP Junior Heavyweight and tag titles (along with a host of other international belts) speaks volumes about his reputation. He may have slowed down over the years but Liger is still going strong today, at age 50. When NXT/WWE fans see Liger perform in their ring, they might well be looking at one of the best wrestlers ever, period. A future Hall of Famer if there ever was one, you don't see many guys be as good as Liger for as long as he has been.
