5. She Was Influenced By Billy Corgan Of Smashing Pumpkins
Billy Corgan is a very successful musician that was most known for his work as the frontman of the very successful rock group Smashing Pumpkins. They were one of the most successful bands of the 1990s and their influential music is still listened to by fans all over the world today. He also happens to be a huge wrestling fan too. Natalya became friends with Corgan back in 2006 when her uncle Bret Hart was inducted into the WWE Hall of fame in Chicago (Corgan is from the Chicago area). At the time, Natalya was trying to get into WWE and was dealing with major knee rehab after a torn ACL injury that sidelined her for nearly a year. Corgan encouraged her not to give up and to pursue her dream. It was about a year later that Natalya signed with WWE. She credits him with motivating her to accomplish her goal. If you follow wrestlers on Twitter, a lot of them will mention Corgan. He knows them all. Any time somebody as successful as him talks to these guys and girls, they're going to listen to him. You don't reach his level of success by just being lucky. It was very cool of him to give Natalya that advice at a time in her life when she really needed the support. In 2012, Corgan launched the Resitance Pro wrestling organization in Chicago. Natalya's cousin Harry Smith (DH Smith in WWE) was the promotion's first Champion. They signed on to do a reality show with AMC, but that recently got canceled.
