10 Things WWE Fans Need To Know About Ricochet

2. He's Already Had A Five-star Match

Dave Meltzer is famously stingy when it comes to his five-star match ratings. Shawn Michaels, for example - regarded by some as the greatest to ever lace up a pair of boots (at least in the States) - only managed one during the entirety of his three decades in the ring.

There is plenty of discussion to be had about whether that's fair or not (the fact that his WrestleMania 21 bout with Kurt Angle was a quarter of a star short still kind of irks), but it does help give the Wrestling Observer chief's highest score greater significance.

As such, it's pretty impressive that Ricochet has already picked one up before his 30th birthday. It came at PWG's Battle of Los Angeles back in 2016, where WWE's new boy teamed up with Will Ospreay and Matt Sydal against The Young Bucks and Adam Cole.

And, yes: it's possible to be in a great multi-man match without being a great wrestler - Mike Knox at No Way Out 2009 springs to mind - but five-star great? Everyone has to put in a shift, and in this match everyone did.
