10 Things WWE Fans Need To Know About Ricochet
1. He Won NJPW's Best Of The Super Juniors
WWE may have only recently began to re-embrace tournament wrestling, but in NJPW they've been a fixture for the last 30 years, with none as prestigious as the annual "Best of the Super Juniors", held since 1988.
In that time, only two Americans have walked away with the top prize. Eddie Guerrero - as Black Tiger II - in 1996, and Ricochet, who won it in 2014, a year after Irishman Prince Devitt, aka Finn Bálor.
That's some pretty good company to be in, and what makes it even more impressive is that he came away with the spoils in one of the tournament's most competitive years. The likes of Kenny Omega, Yujiro Kushida and veteran Jushin Thunder Liger all featured, but it was then-25-year-old Ricochet who got the nod.
If he goes on to achieve even half as much working for Vince McMahon as Eddie Guerrero - who was 28 when he lifted the trophy - it's fair to say he would have had a mightily impressive career.
