10 Things WWE Fans Need To Know About Samoa Joe

8. Going Into Business For Himself

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CCWh4Fi-wFc Add Samoa Joe to the long list of people that have had problems with Scott Hall and Kevin Nash. Joe was meant to team with The Outsiders in the main event of TNA's 2007 Turning Point PPV. However, Hall no-showed and TNA were forced to find a replacement. When it became apparent that Hall wasn't going to show up, TNA management instructed Joe to go to the ring and cut a promo on him while putting over the young, up-and-coming TNA talent, as a way to take heat off of the company. The promo was only supposed to last about a minute but Joe overran by about five and, worse, went into business for himself with some pretty cutting comments aimed towards Hall's friend Kevin Nash. At one point during the promo, Joe turned to TNA president Dixie Carter (who was off camera) and said 'go ahead and fire me, I don't care'. Carter was, understandably, upset. So too was Kevin Nash. When the two men got backstage Nash confronted Joe about his comments and a shoving match ensued. Joe apologised at a talent meeting at the next set of Impact tapings. He really didn't have to go overboard with his promo like he ended up doing.
