Despite getting her start in AAW, it wasn’t Danny Daniels who took care of Scarlett Bordeaux’s early pro wrestling training. It was the unheralded Derek St. Holmes who took the reigns initially, with Scarlett often acknowledging the Wisconsin grappler as her pro wrestling father. St. Holmes gave her the basics, but it was a raft of influential names in the business that really filled in the blanks.

Bordeaux went on to train under a variety of teachers but four stand out. Al Snow is the most well-known, and it should come as no surprise to hear that the former WWF Hardcore Champion had a hand in her development. Snow is one of modern wrestling’s marmite characters but his training credentials seem to transcend opinions of his own career. Scarlett was also trained by Nick Dinsmore, who you might know better as Eugene but you should know better as one of the most underrated talents of a generation.

Until she carves out her own niche on NXT, Scarlett Bordeaux will be best known for her time in Ring Of Honor. ROH is one of the finest training grounds a pro wrestler could hope for, and Scarlett was lucky enough to sit under the knowledgeable wings of Jimmy Jacobs and Truth Martini, two of the savviest wrestling minds in the business today.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
