Like so many before her, Scarlett realised that pro wrestling was the industry for her. One doesn’t just swan into a WrestleMania main event however, and few industries cling to outdated notions of paying your dues quite like the wacky world of professional wrestling. Before she could climb the ladder, Scarlett Bordeaux had to help set the ladder up.

Which she did, albeit in a figurative sense. The ‘ladder’ in question came in the form of selling raffle tickets between matches and setting up the chairs before a show, doing oddjobs and helping out wherever she could, waiting for one opportunity to get in the door. That opportunity came in the form of a curious request from Daniels.

The AAW owner asked Scarlett if she owned a Sexy Santa costume, a get-up that the eager newcomer duly went out and bought. She was then asked if she would be willing to take a piledriver in the middle of the ring. Despite not being entirely sure what a piledriver was (Daniels simply told her to “tuck your chin”) Scarlett agreed, and the rest is history.

After taking the piledriver and selling it for a decent amount of time, Scarlett stumbled back to the dressing room where she was greeted with a bucket of snow and a curt ‘welcome to the business’ from her fellow wrestlers. Scarlett Bordeaux had arrived.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
