The origins of pro wrestling monikers often make for interesting stories, and Taya Valkyrie's is no different.

Her nickname of 'La Wera Loca' was actually given to her by the late Perro Aguayo Jr. during her time spent in Mexico. During an argument involving the duo, Perro proclaimed that Taya was "la wera local," which translates to "crazy white girl" or "crazy blonde", depending on how you interpret the saying. The moniker has stuck with her ever since.

What's interesting is that Taya has noted that 'La Wera Loca' isn't actually a nickname, but rather a different personality entirely. Taya Valkyrie is the professional wrestler who knows all the technical aspects of the sport, whereas 'La Wera Loca' is the street fighter who gets down and dirty when the time calls for it. She specifically notes her Street Fight in Impact vs. Tessa Blanchard as an example of this.

Her in-ring names go even further than this, though. The Taya Valkyrie name came together because of her persistence to keep a four-letter first name, eventually settling on Taya, while the name Valkyrie stems from her Norwegian descent on her mother's side.

Essentially, she's a crazy Viking. Well, if The Viking Raiders ever need a new member, they know where to go.
