10 Things WWE Fans Need To Know About Taya Valkyrie

5. From Three Weeks To Five Years

Taya Valkyrie
AAA

Although she may be better known for her work in Impact Wrestling, Taya Valkyrie actually rose to prominence through her work in Mexico, most notably in AAA.

She moved to the country in 2012 after being invited along by Konnan through a good word from Teddy Hart, initially planning on only staying there for a mere three weeks that soon turned into five years. Inside, she always knew she was never going back home as she had officially moved out, sold her car, and quit her job, but Taya was convinced to stay by El Hijo del Perro Aguayo as he offered her a spot in Los Perros del Mal.

It was the end of that year when Taya debuted for AAA, kicking off the beginning of a mammoth chapter in Taya's wrestling career. By the following March, she was already challenging for the company's Women's Championship, named the Reina de Reinas Championship, a title she would win in 2014 at the company's biggest event of the year.

Now currently in her third run as champion, we'd be remiss to not mention the sour relationship between the two sides after she was stripped of the title without being informed in 2017, quitting the company as a result. Of course, she would eventually return down the line, but it's important to note nonetheless.
