10 Things WWE Fans Need To Know About Tyler Breeze

4. Triple H Told Him To Use A Cell Phone Instead Of A Mirror

There was an excellent ten minute video that ESPN released in May about Breeze that showed a lot about the development of the character. It was part of their "Behind the Curtain" feature although they only released the Breeze section as an online extra. One of the most noteworthy things about the character is that he brings a cell phone to the ring and takes selfies with it. That wasn't what he always did, because in the early stages of the gimmick he brought a mirror to the ring. It was Triple H that told Breeze that they were past the point of using a mirror and it would be better if he used a cell phone to take that picture of himself on his way to the ring. Billy Gunn, who has been a mentor to Breeze in his role as a developmental coach, mentioned that sometimes it takes a while because he went from being a cowboy to a New Age Outlaw and then a Degeneration-X member. It's a good point because you never know where you might end up in wrestling after starting out with one character. We have seen it so many times with a lot of different performers. Another Triple H quote from the Breeze feature was a joke that Tyler "is basically pretending to be Billy Gunn." Breeze definitely has a bit of Gunn in his character since Gunn was known as "Mr. A**" for a few years and was all about being in love with himself the way that Breeze is.
