Make no mistake about it, there are extremely few genuine babyfaces in the WWE or NXT who are as over as Bayley. Whether it’s the music, the loveable energy, the entrance as a whole, the in-ring talent, the underdog shtick or even just the hugs, Bayley is a monster, monster babyface.

Making reference to NXT’s Four Horsewomen, the Takeover pre-match video package did a great job of establishing Bayley as the one who’s been left behind whilst Sasha, Charlotte and Becky have all ascended to the main roster.

Throw in the excellent use of Bayley’s broken hand in the match and this only adds further to this ultimate underdog story of ‘happy, huggy girl makes good’. Of course, it also helps when you’re in the ring with such a phenomenal talent as Sasha Banks.

From the stunning match that Bayley and Banks put on, to the emotion shown by both performers, to the reaction of everyone in the Barclays Center – seriously, just watch the crowd when Bayley gets the 1-2-3 win – these ladies put on one of those moments where, damn it, wrestling felt real again.

Thank you, ladies.
