Finally we got to see some of the real Samoa Joe.

After a hot NXT debut, Joe’s buzz had started to fitter out a little over the last month or two. Luckily, the way he was handled at Takeover was a huge step in the right direction for the Samoan Submission Machine.

As well as getting the clean victory over the usually-untouchable Baron Corbin, Joe was also put over huge by the commentators from the moment he came out. That always adds some credibility to a talent and is hopefully an indication of good things to come for Joe.

Then there was the reaction from the Brooklyn crowd, who gave Joe a hero’s welcome. Added to that, putting Corbin, a talent who the majority of fans are struggling to take to, to sleep was also an added bonus.

Here’s hoping that this win sees Joe sprung into NXT’s main event picture in the near-future.
