10 Things WWE Got Right At NXT Takeover: Brooklyn
5. The Crowd
The apparent 15,589 fans in attendance at The Barclays Centre had a huge influence on NXT Takeover: Brooklyn.
If the amount of tickets sold in itself wasn’t impressive enough, the fans in attendance were into everything on the show, were enjoying what they were seeing, and helped to just make Takeover an old-fashioned, enjoyable wrestling show.
Whether it was cheering on proverbial underdogs like Blue Pants and Bayley, showing respect for a legend like Jushin “Thunder” Liger, or supporting some of the guys more associated with the indys and working overseas, the Brooklyn crowd hit all the right notes at all the right times, and their enthusiasm oozed through the TV screen.
Additionally, it’s not often you see an entire audience so into such a moment as when Bayley defeated Sasha Banks in a huge feel-good moment that’d make even Vince McMahon’s heart of stone take note.
