Sometimes, it's the little things that make all the difference.

At SummerSlam 2016, WWE debuted a new look to their ringside setup and replaced the black floor mats and black, padded barricades with a lighter grey color. Nobody would've thought such a minor change to the colour would make such a significant difference, but it certainly did!

Whether it is because we've seen the all-black ringside setup for nearly 20 years now or because the grey actually enhances the look of the stage, the aesthetics of this were very pleasing. It almost stood out, but not in a way that detracted from the performers or the action.

Sometimes, wrestling benefits from a minor tweak here or there and it doesn't need to be overstated.

These new ringside mats and barriers were just that and it seemed to enhance their entire in-ring product. I wouldn't suggest keeping it all grey, all the time now, but for the major events, busting out the grey mats could give the event that exclusive look and make it feel that much more special.
