Mike and Maria Kanellis have stuttered on SmackDown since debuting at Money In The Bank because Mike has been mired in a meaningless programme with Sami Zayn. The two men have traded wins, and as so often happens, it's difficult to receive the mixed message. If we're meant to hate him for stealing wins, why have him lose before we've had a chance to hate him?

They're not dead in the water yet - and somewhat improbably, many including your writer cannot write off an act with such a powerfully awesome theme. It's as if they must be stars. 'True Love' is fabulously naff. A ludicrous guitar squall and unabashed drum fill give way to lyrics overblown in both content ("keep me warm like a roaring fire") and delivery ("fi-yah!"). It's a gloriously cheesy 1980s power ballad designed to smother.

CFO$ are on such a tear that entire arenas have taken to singing along with their greatest hits, which, while loop-heavy, are brilliantly eclectic. The same group has an equal grasp of power balladry and, with Aleister Black's 'Root of all Evil', vicious metal. Rich Swann's 'Around The World' is such a space funk epic that it even manages the impossible task of temporarily awakening the zombies at 205 Live.

As awesome as Jim Johnston always will be, he always needed more cowbell.
