10 Things WWE Could Learn From The Marvel Universe
9. Spectacle
A number of the most spectacular movie moments of the last ten years have come courtesy of Marvel films. Some of the fights, explosions and other carnage have been truly breathtaking. Clearly audiences enjoy this type of spectacle, otherwise they wouldn't flock to see these films and sing their praises afterwards. How many times do you go and see a Marvel film and come away thinking 'I can't believe they did that, that was incredible' after a particular scene or sequence? Marvel are usually good for a couple of those per film. WWE have an ace production team, one of the best in any form of entertainment. Their video production, camerawork and effects work is top notch. But their shows have been a little light on the extras recently. In the past (particular in the Attitude Era) WWE would do things that would that drop fans' jaws but they've tended to play it safe lately (probably because the PG rating demands it). Back then, WWE would routinely have car crashes, explosions and liberal amounts of pyro on their shows. They had bands playing live, stunts and all manner of other things that gave the viewer a little something extra. Perhaps WWE could reintroduce some of these elements? Of course nobody is expecting them to blow up buildings are have wrestlers flying around the arena, but by introducing a little more spectacle the shows could get back some of the vitality that made them so must-see back in the day.
