10 Things WWE Must Add To WWE Network To Justify $14.99

1. Extensive Independent Wrestling Coverage

Independent wrestling footage will likely be marketed as the $14.99 tier’s biggest selling point upon implementation, and it’ll likely go a long way to attracting new subscribers to the Network. Some fans are just tired of WWE’s mainstream programming and look to indie companies for an alternative, but following such companies can be an expensive habit.

The average Ring of Honor PPV will set you back $30-35 on VOD, for example, and that’s without considering the cost of signing-up to countless other companies’ streaming services. Consuming indie wrestling can become a very costly hobby, but it’d be immediately more affordable on the WWE Network.

$14.99 is an absolute snip to have the world’s finest independent wrestling at your fingertips, but WWE can’t afford a half-baked approach. They must do everything they can to attract high-level indie companies with extensive audiences in order to make this endeavour worthwhile, which means heavy negotiations with the likes of ROH, Progress, and Evolve.

Some of these companies already have their own streaming services in place, and then there’s the matter of pre-existing deals with other PPV suppliers. WWE will have many bridges to cross if they’re to succeed in this area, but it’d be a huge coup if they can pull it off. Some of the best wrestling in the world takes places on these smaller stages, and for only $5 extra a month, their presence would make the Network’s most expensive plan a bargain.
