10 Things WWE Must Add To WWE Network To Justify $14.99
2. Network Exclusive Events
WWE have experimented with a handful of Network-only events over the past year. March’s Roadblock supercard featured solely on the Network, while 2015’s Beast of the East saw Finn Balor become NXT Champion in Tokyo, and that year’s King of the Ring revival’s latter stages played-out for Network subscribers only.
WWE haven’t really done anything else since. The NXT TakeOver specials are a notable exception, but main roster exclusives are few and far between on the Network, and that must change if they’re to implement the new pricing structure. The Network must be bolstered with unmissable action that you can’t see anywhere else for $14.99 to be viable, and more live events would be greatly appreciated.
They can’t just be overhyped house shows like Roadblock, though. The cards must be significant and unique, and there must always be the chance of something big happening on them. Whether it’s a feud-ending match, a title change, or the revival of an old theme (War Games springs to mind), the Network would benefit immensely from such events, even if it’s just once a month.
