10 Things WWE Need To Bring Back
1. Championship Scramble Matches
Part Iron Man match, part Fatal Four Way with a sprinking of the Royal Rumble thrown in for good measure, the Championship Scramble match is one of the most innovative ideas that the WWE have introduced since the Elimination Chamber in 2002.
There have been a grand total of three of these matches in WWE history with each one taking place at Unforgiven 2008. For those unfamiliar with the match, two superstars start in the ring with another being introduced every five minutes until all five are in the ring. A time limit of twenty minutes is enforced and whoever picks up the final pin is declared the winner. This introduced some great strategy with superstars getting an early pin and then trying to play defense for the rest of the match whilst opportunists plot to steal a late pin or secretly cover a fallen competitor.
With such a lack of diversity in WWE, a PPV being headlined by a Scramble match would provided a unique selling point and help elevate some rising stars by having them in a World Title match. In 2008 'The' Brian Kendrick was unofficially WWE Champion during the match and fans still circulate the picture with the graphic confirming this.
The Scrambles were frantic, chaotic and more than deserve to come out of retirement. You knew you were in for 20 minutes of crazy action with the story being the ticking clock and how each superstar would react to the dwindling seconds and each other.
