10 Things WWE Needs To Bring Back
3. Television Champion
Simply put, everything about the Television Championship worked.
Just as the name implies, this championship would be defended on every single week of TV. As it was considered a low-tier title, the lower-to-mid-card would finally have something they could be going after on a weekly basis. The concept was great as an entry-level championship for wrestlers just starting out who have found themselves dead in the water.
WWE could reintroduce the Television Championship (or mix it with the already-established United States Championship) and essentially make it a weekly open-challenge. If the cruiserweights are starting the show over on Raw, give this belt to SmackDown Live! and open the show with your champion coming out and allowing any wrestler to accept the challenge. Doesn't that feel perfect for the 'Land of Opportunity'?
Without requiring any storylines or extra writing, you're guaranteed a championship match on television every single week. Take that and add it with the exposure you'd be giving some talent who have either gone unnoticed or fell into a streak of bad luck, and suddenly this championship truly looks golden.
