10 Things WWE Needs To Learn From WrestleMania 37
4. Great PPV Matches Don't Need To Be Lengthy
For the longest time, WWE has had a habit of thinking that every great PPV match has to be a long one.
While we're thankfully no longer in the days of Triple H having to get 30 damn minutes to plod through a main event every month, the majority of WWE's recent 'big' matches have been given between 15 - 45 minutes.
At WrestleMania 37, several talents hammered home that sometimes less is more when it comes to match time.
One prime example of this is Kevin Owens vs. Sami Zayn. These long-time rivals put on a blistering, frenetic contest that clocked in at barely nine minutes. Could KO and Sami put on something great with 30 minutes to work with? They could, and they have. The point is, certain talents are capable of making a match entertaining with far less than half-an-hour to play with.
Another great example of this was the phenomenal contest that Cesaro and Seth Rollins put in; that match lasting just shy of 12 minutes.
Even the uber-brief seven-minute battle between Big E and Apollo Crews made for a fun watch, whilst E's New Day brethren similarly delivered the goods against AJ Styles and Omos in a match that was under ten minutes.
Contests like 'Mania's two main events thrived with more time afforded to them, but WrestleMania 37 was a great reminder that good matches don't always have to be long matches.
