The WWE Title match was a lot different at Night of Champions compared to SummerSlam. Their match at SummerSlam was more of a dominating effort by Lesnar with Cena on offense for less than two minutes. Lesnar famously hit 16 German Suplexes and won cleanly with the F5 in a manner that we had never seen before. It was a total ass kicking. This time around they had a very competitive matchup with Cena hitting the Attitude Adjustment four times. The first time he did it, Lesnar kicked out at the count of one. Later in the match, Cena got closer with the nearfalls. He also put Lesnar in the STF a few times, which led to a few moments where it looked like Lesnar would tap out. Of course it didn't happen. Lesnar didn't get that many nearfalls, at least not that many were believable. Cena was fighting back all night long, but he wasn't made to look that weak. Lesnar did a hit a variety of suplexes including the rolling verticals that Eddie Guerrero used to do. However, it wasn't anything like his performance at SummerSlam. This was more about being a traditional main event match. It was a lot of fun to watch although it didn't have a special feel to it. The ending with Seth Rollins attacking Cena for the DQ likely made some fans angry, but it also set up their next match. We can expect to see Lesnar vs. Cena one more time at Hell in a Cell in late October. That one could be the best match they've ever had considering the build up to it as well as the potential for greatness inside one of WWE's most famous structures. All in all, Night of Champions was a slightly above average show thanks to some great in-ring work and interesting booking choices that will hopefully get the WWE Universe talking about the company in a positive light.
