10 Things WWE Did Right At Survivor Series

2. Dolph Ziggler As The Sole Survivor

The most encouraging part of the show was how WWE booked Dolph Ziggler during the main event. He wasn't just some guy that was a part of Team Cena. He was the one that carried the team by earning four decisions (three by pinfall, one by countout against Rusev) and by the end of the 43 minute main event match he was seen as a bigger star. It's the perfect example of how a well booked match can really make a difference in somebody's career. Fans that only looked at Ziggler as some midcard babyface will now believe in him more than they ever have before. Ziggler was the one that fought back from a 1-on-3 deficit to win the match. The final pinfall wasn't clean, but the two before it were all because of him. Most importantly, he kept on fighting and showed the kind of babyface heart that makes fans genuinely love a wrestler. It was far from a dominant win for Ziggler since he got the final cover after he was given a Pedigree and Sting came out to hep him, but it was one of the biggest wins of his career. There's a hope now that Ziggler's career is on the upswing because it would be stupid for WWE to not capitalize on this momentum he has. While we may hope he's going to be a future WWE main eventer, it may be tough to do as a babyface. With other faces on the roster like John Cena, Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins and a returning Daniel Bryan whenever he comes back, Ziggler may not be able to break through as much as we want him to. Hopefully we can look back at Survivor Series 2014 as a career turning point for Ziggler.
