10 Things WWE Did Right At Survivor Series

5. Smart Eliminations During The Main Event

A ten man tag match with nine eliminations isn't easy to book. You have to make sure everybody is represented well and gets a chance to do something significant. Mark Henry as the first to go when Big Show knocked him out and pinned him in 50 seconds. Henry probably didn't like being booked to look like such a loser, but it sent the right message immediately. It was definitely a surprise that Ryback got pinned by Seth Rollins rather easily. Since WWE spent three weeks building Ryback back up, the assumption was that he would look strong in this match. He did not although a feud with Rusev was teased. Rusev lasted 21 minutes into the match. We knew he wasn't going to pinned or submitted, so it was smart to have him get counted out after jumping through a table. He was going for Ziggler, but missed when Ziggler moved. Losing that way really doesn't hurt him. Erick Rowan go pinned by a Discus clothesline by former tag team partner Erick Rowan. It was smart to put Harper over since he's the IC Champion right now. Don't be surprised if they feud in the near future. The John Cena elimination was a shocker thanks to Big Show turning on him. Show ended up turning on his team by leaving the match immediately. More on them later. For the final three eliminations, Kane lost to Ziggler due to a Zig Zag and then Ziggler got a rollup on Harper with a handful of the tights (or jeans) for the win. The final moments with Ziggler taking on Rollins were very exciting too. The smart and creative eliminations helped it become a great match.
