10 Things WWE SmackDown Must Do Ahead Of WrestleMania 33

1. Pull The Trigger On Randy Orton Vs. Bray Wyatt

Going back to the main event title scene, there remains one glaringly obvious step that needs to be taken on SmackDown ahead of WrestleMania 33: Randy Orton vs. Bray Wyatt needs to become a reality.

After Wyatt won the WWE Championship at Elimination Chamber, Orton promised that he wouldn’t be coming after his buddy’s belt, despite having won the Royal Rumble match. But the story behind this one is already so rich that it would be stupid not to headline WrestleMania with it.

From enemies, to allies, to tag team partners, and eventually WrestleMania opponents—it’s a programme that essentially writes itself. And more importantly, it's one that would make complete sense if Orton were to reveal that this had all been a ruse and an attempt to bring down the Wyatt Family from within.

Plus, the way in which Orton worded his vow to forgo his title opportunity suggests that this is more than just a piece of fantasy booking. His exact words were “as long as you are the master, and I am the servant, I refuse to face you at WrestleMania.”

So, the solution is really quite simple: Orton betrays Wyatt, is therefore no longer the servant, and this long-awaited, months-in-the-making showdown can finally take place for the brand’s biggest title and on the company’s biggest stage.

Perfectly poised, realistically it's more a case of when this one happens rather than if.
