Bayley becoming the first woman ever to retain a WWE title in Saudi Arabia feels like a token gesture designed to cushion the blow of WrestleMania Kickoff show disappointment. It's like her employers were saying, 'OK, Bayley. You can make more history here and brag about it on TV for a while, but we've got nothing for you on 5 April'.

That SmackDown Women's Title is a real afterthought.

Becky Lynch vs. Shayna Baszler is big time over on Raw, and even NXT has a marquee feel with Rhea Ripley defending against Charlotte Flair. Meanwhile, on Fridays, Bayley will defend against a gathering of chasing challengers like Naomi, Carmella, Alexa Bliss, Lacey Evans and more.

There's a chance WWE will hold off on the inevitable Bayley vs. Sasha Banks feud until after WrestleMania 36 is over with. That'd at least give the SmackDown female ranks some shine and the top women's program slot from mid-April until the summer months.
