10 Things WWE Wants You To Forget About Alberto Del Rio

8. He Entered The Arena With Fancy Cars...Then It Stopped

There was a lot of thought that was put into Del Rio's character from the moment he started in vignettes and then he showed up in the arena. One of the unique things about him was that he would enter the arena in extravagant automobiles. Obviously he didn't buy $50,000 cars and then drive them from city to city (WWE rented them), but that's the impression that the character gave us. It was a regular thing to hear Del Rio's music hit, then the announcers (Michael Cole or Josh Mathews) would let us know how much the cars were worth. There were some that were supposedly worth as much as $300,000. It was always cool to see what kind of car he would drive to the arena, but then it suddenly stopped. The reason it stopped is because he went babyface. When you're a babyface you don't want to show up the fans and make it seem like you're better than them. A guy like Eddie Guerrero could ride a Low Rider to the ring because it was cool, but a rich guy in an expensive car sent the wrong message. He wouldn't be a 'man of the people'. When he went back to his heel ways in the 2013 they should have had him come out with the cars again. They helped separate him from everybody else. Maybe WWE was trying to save money by not having him enter the arena in his cars, but they should have kept doing it because it's what made him the egotistical heel character that he was.
