10 Things WWE Wants You To Forget About Booker T

1. He Got Into A Backstage Fight With Batista

WWE.comWWE.comAny time two WWE performers get into a legit fight it's a big deal. The whole point of the wrestling business is to work with the person you're in a match with, do the best you can to get along and try to entertain the fans. When you get into legit fights backstage that's basically a spit in the face to the business that you're supposed to love. Booker and Batista were in California on May 8, 2006 at a photo shoot for SummerSlam. Batista had earned a reputation as a cocky guy who rubbed people the wrong way. Booker got sick of it, so he decided to confront him about it. The two men went into a private room to have a fight. Booker knocked him down and allegedly dominated the altercation although there weren€™t a lot of witnesses. Batista had a visible black eye when he appeared on television following the incident. When Booker talked about it with WrestlingInc in 2013 he mentioned that he won: "I mean, I€™m a pretty good fighter. I don€™t like bragging or anything like that but I€™ve always been a really good fighter. I€™ve always fought my whole life. He took a good beating, but he€™s a man. It was about respect. Even to this day, I respect him and I€™m sure he respects me." Two months after the fight, Booker T won the World Heavyweight Title, which was a Smackdown title at that point. There were reports online that Vince McMahon was apparently very impressed that Booker won that fight with Batista and that's a big reason why Booker won the World Title. Maybe it was always going to happen, but when you can impress the boss by showing your toughness it is a good thing. He ended up dropping the title to Batista about four months after he won it. Even though the two men did patch things up and work together after their fight, Booker still told TMZ in 2010 that he didn't believe Batista could beat some big names in MMA, even Bobby Lashley. The fight wasn't completely ignored by WWE since they actually mentioned it on their website as a way to keep the story hot, but it was definitely a legit fight. That's why it is the number one thing that WWE wants you to forget about Booker T. That's it for this week's things WWE wants us to forget series.
