10 Things WWE Wants You To Forget About Brock Lesnar

6. His Attempt To Make It In NFL Was A Bad Decision

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=furVaWrbbwY When Lesnar left WWE in 2004 after WrestleMania 20, fans wondered what he was going to do with his life. He was 26 years old at the time and instead of building a legacy in WWE as a top guy for the next decade, he chose to walk away. For what? A career in the NFL? It was a bizarre choice. As a diehard fan of the NFL and somebody that thought Lesnar was a natural as a pro wrestler, I was very intrigued by Brock's decision. While most of us figured that it wouldn't work out, it would have been incredible if it did. Nobody should doubt Lesnar's physical ability. He's an athletic marvel at 6'3" 280 pounds. If he wants to try something, who's going to tell him no? That's why he thought he could make it in the NFL as a defensive tackle. Lesnar's chances of making it with the Minnesota Vikings were pretty slim because he didn't even play collegiate football. He was busy with wrestling. Nearly all NFL players have some college football experience. It's hard to walk into an NFL camp as somebody that only played high school football and make it on the team over guys who made a living playing the sport. As good of an athlete as he was, he just couldn't make it work. Lesnar got to play in some preseason games for the Vikings, but he didn't really come close to making the team.
