10 Things WWE Wants You To Forget About Christian

5. He Worked In TNA As Christian Cage

Christian has had two separate runs in WWE. He started in the company in 1998 when he was 25 years old. He had a lot of success as a tag team wrestler with multiple partners and won some midcard titles, but he wasn't able to become a main eventer. He ended up leaving in late 2005. His second run in WWE started in 2009 and he's been in the company ever since. Where was he? He was working for Total Nonstop Action wrestling. Christian debuted in TNA in November 2005 and he was one of the first big name stars to go there. It was a time when the company was really growing. The roster was loaded with talent although they were mostly young, unproven guys. His arrival made him a big fish in a small pond, so to speak. Everybody knew who he was because of his successful WWE career. It was a big deal for him to go there. He had a lot of success in TNA. He won the NWA World Title two times and had a number of great matches there. You could see that he was happy for a while, but the three years seemed to wear on him. By the time it got to late 2008 and his contract was up, it was clear that he wanted to leave. That's what he did. Following three years in TNA, he was back in WWE. There was one interesting move with him in TNA that happened in 2012. He was sent there by WWE because WWE brought TNA wrestler Ric Flair to their Hall of Fame ceremony, so TNA asked for Christian to appear at Slammiversary. He really didn't look thrilled about it, but he had to do it. All he did was announce a video package for the number one moment in the history of the company (it was their 10th year anniversary) and after that he was truly gone from TNA for good. Of course if you watch WWE then you know they never mention TNA at all. It's as if they don't exist. That's why his run in TNA is something they want you to forget.
