10 Things WWE Wants You To Forget About Daniel Bryan
10. His WWE Name Was Almost Buddy Peacock
Daniel Bryan is not the kind of wrestler that's going to blow you away with an over the top personality like the Ultimate Warrior or Hulk Hogan. That's not him. Because of that, he was not given a very elaborate name when he started in WWE. In fact, it can be argued that he has one of the most basic names in the history of wrestling. It's not like it took a lot of thinking to come up with the name Daniel Bryan either. All they did was took his real name Bryan Danielson and switched it around to something shorter by reversing it. It's similar to how Shawn Michaels has a real name of Michael Shawn Hickenbottom, so in that sense they thought of Bryan's mentor when coming up with the name. In a 2012 interview, Bryan talked about the origins of the name and what other names he was thinking about: "It could have been much worse because they left it up to me to come up with a list of names as far as what I could have been. I did not come up with Daniel Bryan, William Regal did. I actually had a list of names that included Buddy Peacock and Lloyd Bonaire. " Every time you hear a "Daniel Bryan" chant, just think that you could have been chanting "Buddy Peacock" instead. Maybe that would have been a good thing! No. It would not.
