10 Things WWE Wants You To Forget About Dolph Ziggler

7. His Push Ended In 2013 Due To Controversial Comments

Ziggler won the Money in the Bank briefcase in the summer of 2012, then he cashed it in on the Raw after WrestleMania 29 in 2013. A few months later he lost the title and then spent the rest of the year in the midcard without a push. What happened? Nobody really knows for sure, but apparently he had some heat for comments he made in a radio interview. In late August 2013 following Randy Orton's heel turn, Ziggler spoke from the heart in an interview that apparently earned him a lot of heat: €œSo, the fact that it€™s now out in the open, and I€™m allowed to comment on it, it actually makes me sick. I€™m really happy for Randy, he€™s awesome, he€™s so good at this. It makes me mad how good he is. But the opportunities that he gets over and over again makes that chip on my shoulder feel that much bigger to me. I wanna go out there and prove that they€™re wrong, prove Triple H that he backed the wrong guy for the last 10 years, and no matter what, I€™m going to come out on top, one way or the other.€ Was he in character for some of that? Sure he was. However, they weren't in a program at that time, nor did it appear like there would be anything involving them, so perhaps management felt like he was taking unnecessary shots at Orton. He wasn't used much for the rest of 2013 and most of 2014 until his recent push up the ladder this summer. If he does interviews in the future, he should keep all comments storyline related and leave Triple H's name out of it. He's a sensitive guy apparently.
