10 Things WWE Wants You To Forget About Kane

1. Katie Vick

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TlpSsklsq2s When it comes to the worst storylines in the history of WWE, the name 'Katie Vick' immediately comes to mind. This incredibly offensive storyline is as bad as anything that WWE has ever done, which covers a lot of rocky ground. WWE have tried to poke fun at it in recent years but nobody was laughing at the time. The angle actually started immediately after the great TLC tag match that main-evented Raw in October 2002. After the match Triple H appeared on the ramp to talk about how Kane murdered a girl named Katie Vick. Oh, really? Because setting his parents on fire, trying to murder people and constantly attacking Pete Rose weren't strange enough. Kane admitted that the story was true. He had killed Katie in a car accident when the two were leaving a high school party. The angle then took an even more bizarre turn when they pushed the idea that Kane tried to have sex with Katie after she died in the accident. Yup, that's right, they went so far with the story that they decided to make Kane a necrophiliac. There was a notorious scene at a funeral home where evil Triple H climbed into a casket and performed a simulated sexual act with a dummy that was supposed to be Katie. WWE actually booked their World Heavyweight Champion, and the bosses future son-in-law in this way. Considering the battering the already-fragile Kane character had taken, he had to get vengeance and dethrone the evil Triple H at No Mercy, right? Nope. Triple H quite easily beat Kane on the night, drawing a line under their feud. Who thought this was a good idea? WWE were on a run of presenting tasteless shock TV (HLA, Billy and Chuck's wedding) in order to try and revive flagging ratings, but this one topped the lot. Sky Sports in the UK refused to air it because they found it so offensive. Glen Jacobs may be a selfless WWE servant and a team player, but he really should have stood up and said 'no' to the Katie Vick angle.
