The storyline of Kane having an impostor was a random storyline that didn't have much of a reason for happening other than...well...it's hard to think of why they did it.The best explanation could be that in the summer of 2006 there wasn't a lot happening for Kane, so they tried to come up with a big story for him to be a part of. Kane was wrestling against Shelton Benjamin when suddenly his theme music started to play and another Kane, dressed like Kane circa-1997, walked down to the ring. The fake Kane faced off with Kane and gave him a Chokeslam in the centre of the ring. Drew Hankinson, who wrestling fans know better as Luke Gallows of Straight Edge Society fame (or as Festus), was the man behind the other Kane. Although Hankinson was a good worker for a big guy, the Kane versus Kane match at Vengeance sucked and the angle was dropped. It was probably for the best, anyway, since nobody took the angle seriously. On the post-Vengeance Raw, the original Kane literally threw fake Kane out of the building, while also taking off the imposter's mask. WWE had hoped that Hankinson would work out in the role and that he could take over as Kane in place of the (rumoured to be retiring) Kane. Jacobs decided to stay on, however, and Hankinson was sent back to OVW. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZlepGWwKJYw
