When The Miz started in WWE in the mid-2000s, he tried a lot of different things to get himself over. He had that haircut that was spiked in the font with blonde highlights and he altered his look a bunch of different times. It was all done to make him more noticeable. Prior to The Miz using "really?" and "awesome" as his main catchphrases, he used something else. That was the phrase "hoorah." It actually has some military ties because it's been used in the US military, but Miz doesn't have a background in that. He just seemed to be yelling it to annoy people. The Miz had his first match on Smackdown on September 1, 2006 and he was shouting "Hoorah" loudly. It really didn't get over very much. JBL was on commentary at that point. He absolutely buried The Miz on commentary right away even though JBL was a heel announcer and Miz was a heel character. The best thing about the "Hoorah" catchphrase is that The Miz hasn't said it in many years and hopefully never says it again.
