10 Things WWE Wants You To Forget About Rey Mysterio
So about that mask he wears? We have actually seen what's under it. Sorry WWE, but it's true.
Rey Mysterio is turning 40 years old this year and has been seen wrestling on American television for the past 20 years. He burst onto the scene in ECW, then WCW snatched him up in his early 20s. Rey was so good that he was considered one of the best workers alive when he was just 22 years old when he had that epic match with Eddie Guerrero at WCW's Halloween Havoc 1997. Few wrestlers have ever been that good at such a young age. When WCW died in 2001, Mysterio wasn't one of their stars that was brought into WWE right away. It probably would have been good for WWE if he was, but due to contract reasons (a lot of WCW talents still got paid) he wasn't brought into WWE until the summer of 2002. Mysterio's one of the oldest guys on WWE's roster and in the last few years his career has suffered greatly due to all of the injuries he's had. His knees have given him major problems, which is the result of all those high risk spots he was doing in his younger years. Fans may laugh at him for being injury prone now, but they should respect him for being an innovator and arguably the most successful wrestler ever in terms of bringing the Mexican lucha libre style to American wrestling. Just like everybody else in wrestling, Mysterio has done some things and had some moments that WWE wants us to forget about him. These are things that aren't mentioned when talking about the greatness of his career. Some are storyline related. Other things are behind the scenes stuff. It's also only WWE stuff just as the title suggests. Here's a look at ten things WWE wants you to forget about the former three time WWE World Champion Rey Mysterio.
