10 Things WWE Wants You To Forget About Ric Flair

2. Chris Benoit Was In The Four Horsemen

When WWE inducted the Four Horsemen as a group in the Hall of Fame in 2012 they made sure to mention only one incarnation of the group. The five men that were inducted in the Hall of Fame were Ric Flair, Arn Anderson, Tully Blanchard, Barry Windham and manager J.J. Dillon. It can be argued that WWE did the right thing by only including those four members of the group. However, they also chose to ignore the fact that there were several other incarnations of the group too. When the group was together from 1995 to 1999, Flair was in his usual spot as the leader and Chris Benoit was a part of it too. Sometimes the guys around them changed like Brian Pillman, Arn Anderson (due to retirement), Steve McMahon, Curt Hennig and Dean Malenko, but Benoit was consistently a part of the group too. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3W-loSAQ5FE It's just another instance of WWE choosing to ignore anything Benoit related because of the double murder suicide he committed in 2007 when he murdered his wife Nancy (aka Woman) and son as well as himself. Nobody thought Benoit was capable of anything like that. It likely affected Flair a great deal because he's the one that picked Benoit to be part of the Horsemen because of how much he respected him as an in-ring performer. We're not here to blame WWE for ignoring it. It's absolutely understandable on their part.
