10 Things WWE Wants You To Forget About Rob Van Dam

5. He Was The Last European Champion

Tvd European Following the brand extension in the spring of 2002, WWE felt like they didn't really need the European Title anymore because they had the IC Title already on Raw and the US Title was going to be featured on Smackdown. On the July 23, 2002 edition of Raw, RVD defended his IC Title against Jeff Hardy's Euro Title. Hardy only won it two weeks earlier from William Regal just so they could set up a ladder match on Raw between RVD and Hardy. It was one of the shortest ladder matches you'll ever see because they only went about 7 minutes with both titles hanging from the rafters. RVD ended up winning after a splash off the top of a ladder. Then he climbed up to grab both titles. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xx-2PcAzTIM What's weird is if you go to WWE.com's page about European Title history you won't see RVD's name on the list although in the paragraph above the list it does mention him. There were 37 different Euro Title reign, yet WWE doesn't want you to remember the European Title. When's the last time they mentioned it? It just doesn't matter anymore.
