10 Things WWE Wants You To Forget About Scott Hall

1. There Was A Fake Razor Ramon After He Left

When Hall and Nash left WWE in May of 1996, it must have really pissed off Vince McMahon. It happened at a time when WCW was gaining a lot of momentum and WWE's roster wasn't very deep. They needed those guys, but they also weren't willing to pay them as much as WCW did. What WWE did to counter their loss was one of the stupidest things they've ever done: they created a fake Diesel and fake Razor Ramon. Since McMahon owned the rights to the names of Diesel and Razor Ramon that he would just bring in two other guys to play the characters. Fake Diesel was played by Glenn Jacobs (later known as Kane) and fake Razor was played by a guy named Rick Bogner. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XdN5JlXJsAE The pair debuted on Raw on September 23, 1996 when Jim Ross was in a heel role. Ross wasn't very successful in that role and he quickly became a regular announcer again. Meanwhile, the two fakes had a tough time getting over because fans didn't want imitations of wrestlers they loved. They wanted the real things, but they weren't there anymore. They were in WCW. It was a McMahon decision to bring them in. After realizing that it wasn't working, the plug was pulled and they were gone within a few months. The two fakes were actually a part of the 1997 Royal Rumble even though the gimmicks clearly weren't working. It was an example of just how thin WWE's roster was at the time. In an interview with the Calgary Journal in 2013, Bogner told a story that summed everything up. When Bognar's contract with WWE expired, he placed a call to McMahon to discuss renewing it. Bognar barely said anything when McMahon interrupted him. "Rick, please don't call me at this number again," McMahon said before quickly hanging up. That was the end of fake Razor Ramon, never to be heard from or mentioned by WWE again.
